Botulinum Toxin directly blocks the 'tightening signal' between the nerves and the muscles in the skin. As a result, the muscles in the skin can no longer be (fully) tightened.

It takes about 1-2 weeks after the treatment until you have maximum effect, after which the ability to tighten the muscles slowly increases again. In the months after the treatment, the blockage of the nerve endings is slowly restored by your own body.

Treatment should initially be repeated every 3 months. Eventually, the time between treatments will increase to about 6 months.
